DAMN, I'M BEAT!

I was watching something on Netflix the other day, and the doctor said to the nurse, "No one cares for the caregiver." He was exactly right!

Hubby was doing well - he went to his surgeon for the 6 month check-up after shoulder replacement, and everything looked good. He stopped at the store for a few things, got home, and started feeling like crap again. He was coughing, and we thought it was another headcold. By Thursday afternoon, he had a fever of 102.3. Naturally, I freaked out and came right home from work. He hadn't eaten anything, and hadn't taken Tylenol all day. Great. I called the doctor, and no one was in at our primary doctor. OK, I thought, let's see what the Tylenol does before we go to the ER. It brought the fever down, and he had a video doctor visit Friday afternoon. I was sure there was an infection of some sort, but the doc thinks it's the flu. He's been sleeping, I swear, since Thursday. I'm loading him up with liquids and toast.

I took yesterday off to care for him. Today the sun came out, little chilly, but I got some flower beds cleaned up. I trimmed all of my hibiscus, and tore out the old clematis. You can see some of the Tiger Lillies trying to poke through. I love this time of year.

I hope you all are having a nice weekend. I think I need a nap!

I am so sorry hubby got sick. I hope he is over the worst of it by now.
Take care of yourself!! I am guilty of taking care of others and not myself. It is really bad for our mental and physical health.

Thank you, Girlfriend! He hasn't had a fever in 3 days, just the lingering cough is staying. I'm doing a musical, and have been gone from the house 12-13 hours/day. sigh

My husband just had open heart surgery and caregiving is rough. He's doing pretty good with it so that helps. The hospital stay was rough. I hope that you manage to find some respite here and there.

Oh, Honey! You need hugs, too!! My husband had a staph infection, went septic, and had emergency open heart about 1 1/2 years ago. ICU was the worst, since nobody tells you ANYTHING! I hope he heals, and you get some relief.

Thank you. He's supposed to watch one of the little ones this Thursday, so our son in law can go to the Sox opener. We had rain and snow the last few weeks!

Confessions of a biker babe

This is my first blog, so here goes... My husband and I just got back from "HOGROCK", down in SO. IL. It's a 4-day biker/camping event, similar to the "BOOGIE", which is in So. IN.
