A SONG FOR MY SON - HE GETS THAT FROM ME

This is a hard one to write, so please bear with me. Almost two years ago I had posted about losing my ex-husband who was the father of our three children. Our oldest a daughter, and two sons born back to back. Our one son was engaged to be married at the time, but the wedding was postponed, due to the circumstances. Flash forward to 2025 and our other son now getting married in 3 weeks time Easter Weekend out in British Columbia.

My son who is getting married told me who wanted to phone and talk this past weekend, but never did. This is why..

I'm soo sorry I forgot to call, been so busy with house showings plus I forgot that we were picking up our wedding arch. I'm soo sorry . Can I phone you this Saturday? if so, what time would work for you?

My reply: Oh sweetie, no worries son as I know you have a lot on your plate right now. Since I am coming out in just over two weeks, I will phone you the day I arrive.We will be in the same time zone than.
Love you son and we will talk on the phone then. I arrive on Sunday, April 13th in the morning, so will phone you that day

For those outside of Canada here who do not know, Canada has 6 different Time Zones. Ontario, where I live is 3 hours ahead of British Columbia on the West Coast of Canada..

Both of my sons have Tourette's Syndrome but the one getting married Easter Weekend also has severe OCD .With all going on at the moment, with his wedding, selling his Town House, trying to find a new house, and both missing his Dad not being there and myself 3,000 kilometers away at the moment, he is stressed beyond limits..

He added in to his message, how much he missed his Dad, who lived a half hour away that he could see physically in the proverbial " Blink of an eye" about how his Tourettes and OCD has affected both to come out even more, right now in this moment in time..His intended knows of course, as one can not hide it..

He also asked me for a Mother/Son song in the same breath, both missing his now deceased Dad who will not be there, and myself, His Mom, who will be for our Mother/Son song at his wedding..

I had chosen so very many from Michael Buble, Jan Arden, Celine Dionne and many other Canadian artists, yet it is Reba McEntire and her song," He Gets That From Me" trying to pay tribute to both his Dad, me and our Mother/Son song at his wedding..

So my fellow Mothers of Sons, who have no " Dad" now, nor Dad's of Daughters with a spouse or ex like mine who died, when it comes to their Weddings, walking them down the aisle for the very first time, which song would you choose when asked by your children on their Wedding Day?????
